Parker to present “Global Tide of Women Rising” on Nov. 12

Women around the world are watching to see if the U.S. elects its first female president in 2016. Kathleen Parker, a Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist, will talk about the global significance of this election during her Thursday, Nov. 12, presentation as the fall 2015 Mary Louise Smith Chair in Women and Politics.

Students to study gender equity in Sweden

Applications are being accepted from Iowa State students interested in participating in the summer 2016 global leadership study abroad program to Sweden. The 2016 trip will be the second time this program has been offered by the Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics.

Plaza of Heroines records now digitized

Donor records for the Plaza of Heroines are now digitized, thanks to work completed over the summer. The plaza, located in front of Carrie Chapman Catt Hall, is a mosaic of engraved bricks and granite pavers that was dedicated in 1995 to honor Carrie Chapman Catt and other women who have made an impact on their families, communities and society.
