Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics

Academic scholarship and practice in the field

The Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics was founded in 1992 in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University at Iowa State University to interest, educate, and engage citizens in the political process.

The center’s programs blend the resources and scholarship of the academic environment with the experiences of practitioners in fields important to the political process.

The Catt Center fosters research on gender and politics, encourages civic engagement through its program and events, and coordinates efforts to recognize women who have helped shape the world.

The Catt Center has been a great space for me to learn, connect, and contribute.
