Susan Cloud is a communications specialist for the Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics. She received a B.A. in biology in 1988 from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, and an M.S. in botany in 1991 and an M.A. in rhetoric and professional communication in 1994 from Iowa State University.
In her role at the center, she manages the Archives of Women’s Political Communication and Plaza of Heroines and assists with the Women in Iowa Politics database, Catt Prize and the center's website. She also provides administrative support and manages the website for the Leadership Studies Program, which is coordinated by the center.
Cloud joined the staff in the fall of 2012. Previously, she was a technical writer and editor for Engineering Animation, Inc. and courseware services manager at Phasient Learning Technologies in Ames, Iowa. She has also worked as freelance technical writer and editor.
