The initial goal of raising at least $12,500 in pledges to create an expendable fund account has been surpassed by more than $3,500, and the Iowa State University Foundation has established a landing page where anyone interested in supporting the scholarship can donate online: www.foundation.iastate.edu/turner.
Donations also can be made by mailing a check to the Iowa State University Foundation, 2505 University Blvd, P.O. Box 2230, Ames, IA 50010-2230. If mailing a check, please include one of the following with your check: Fund ID #2706980, a note referencing the Dr. Deborah Turner Legacy of Heroines scholarship, or a completed gift form.
The first Dr. Deborah Turner Legacy of Heroines scholarship will be awarded next spring for the 2025-2026 academic year to a full-time undergraduate student in the pre-medicine or pre-health professional track with a demonstrated financial need.
The Catt Center is pleased to honor Dr. Turner – a proud Iowa State alumna, national president of the League of Women Voters, and strong advocate for voting rights and women’s rights – and to help support Iowa State University students with another scholarship in the Legacy of Heroines scholarship program.
