On Oct. 16, Catt Center director Karen Kedrowski and Sue Cloud, the center’s communications specialist, will attend the Iowa Council for the Social Studies Convention in Iowa City. This all-day meeting is an important professional development opportunity for K-12 social studies teachers in Iowa.
Kedrowski will present on the Catt Center’s high school curriculum, “The Equal Rights at 100 Years: History and Current Issues.”
Kedrowski and Cloud will also staff an exhibit table promoting the Catt Center’s resources for educators, which include the curriculum, the traveling display “Toward a University Suffrage: African American Women in Iowa and the Vote for All,” women’s history and National History Day resources, and the Archives of Women’s Political Communication.
