To mark the 20th year of the Women Impacting ISU calendar, the Catt Center will be publishing a commemorative edition in 2026 that will feature women who had left Iowa State before the first calendar was created in 2007.

If you have nominated someone for the Women Impacting ISU calendar in the past, you will notice that the nomination process is a little different for the 2026 calendar. This year, a nomination may be submitted by two individuals or one campus unit. As in the past, individuals do not need to be employed by Iowa State or be an Iowa State student to submit a nomination.

To nominate a woman for the 2026 Women Impacting ISU calendar, you will need the following information to enter into the nomination form:

  • Contact information for the nominator(s) (one university unit or two individuals)
  • Contact information for the nominee, if living
  • When the nominee was at Iowa State
  • A description of why your nominee should be honored on the 2026 calendar (1,500 character limit, including spaces)

The nomination submission may be completed by either of the nominators or by a third party on behalf of the nominators.

The nomination period for the 2026 Women Impacting ISU calendar is closed.

Frequently asked questions

Any woman who had left Iowa State before the first calendar was created in 2007 – women who had graduated before 2007 (and did not then stay at Iowa State as an employee) or had left employment with Iowa State before 2007 – is eligible to be nominated for the 2026 calendar. We particularly encourage nominations of women who are not already widely recognized on campus for their contributions. As with all Women Impacting ISU calendars, we are looking for women who impacted Iowa State through service to their unit or a broader campus audience, in the classroom or through community relationships, and who inspired women of all generations.

Yes, posthumous nominations are welcomed.

Self nominations will not be considered.

Nominations of organizations will not be considered.

A nomination may be submitted by two individuals or one campus unit. Individual nominators do not need to be employed by Iowa State or be an Iowa State student.

If your nominee is still living, we recommend telling them about the nomination and sharing the information you are including in the nomination before submitting it. That way, the nominee can let you know if there is anything else about her impact at Iowa State that could be included.

Nominators and their nominees will be notified in early October.

A reception to publicly honor the women selected to appear on the 2026 calendar and unveil the calendar will be held in the Sun Room of the Memorial Union on Friday, Jan. 23, 2026, from 3:30-5 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public.

Calendars will be available at the reception in January, immediately following the program. Calendars will be also available at various campus locations while supplies last, including the Catt Center, the Margaret Sloss Center, Beardshear Hall, and the Memorial Union.
