The Iowa Department of Human Rights maintains a list of organizations for women and girls in Iowa

In addition, a number of national organizations provide support, advocacy and leadership training for women, including the following:

American Association of University Women
AAUW advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and research.

Barbara Lee Family Foundation
The Barbara Lee Family Foundation advances women’s equality and representation in American politics and contemporary art through their political research program, strategic partnerships, grants, and endowments.

Concerned Women for America
Concerned Women for America helps members across the country bring Biblical principles into all levels of public policy.

Feminist Majority Foundation
The Feminist Majority Foundation (FMF), founded in 1987, is dedicated to women’s equality, reproductive health, and non-violence. FMF utilizes research and action to empower women economically, socially, and politically.

Mothers of the Movement
The Mothers Movement Online, founded in 2003, serves as a clearinghouse for information about social, cultural, economic, and political issues related to the well-being of mothers.

National Association of Commissions for Women
The National Association of Commissions for Women (NACW) assists and supports commissions for women to ensure that they not only survive, but thrive in today’s challenging environment.

National Council of Jewish Women
The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) is a grassroots organization of volunteers and advocates who turn progressive ideals into action. Inspired by Jewish values, NCJW strives for social justice by improving the quality of life for women, children, and families and by safeguarding individual rights and freedoms.

National Council of Negro Women
The National Council of Negro Women’s mission is to lead, advocate for and empower women of African descent, their families and communities.

National Organization for Women
Since its founding in 1966, NOW’s purpose has been to take action through intersectional grassroots activism to promote feminist ideals, lead societal change, eliminate discrimination, and achieve and protect the equal rights of all women and girls in all aspects of social, political, and economic life.

National Women’s Political Caucus
The National Women’s Political Caucus is a multi-partisan grassroots organization dedicated to increasing women’s participation in the political process. NWPC recruits, trains and supports pro-choice women candidates for elected and appointed offices at all levels of government.

Vision 2020
Vision 2020 is a national coalition of organizations and individuals united in the commitment to achieve women’s economic and social equality. It was founded and is administered by the Institute for Women’s Health and Leadership at Drexel University College of Medicine.

Women’s Congressional Policy Institute
The Women’s Congressional Policy Institute is a nonprofit, nonpartisan public policy organization whose mission is to bring together a community of bipartisan women policymakers and trusted partners to advance issues of importance to women, develop the next generation of women leaders, and foster a more effective and representative democracy.
