The Center for LGBTQIA+ Student Success develops academic and personal success, community, and leadership for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, asexual, and allied students.
Department of Political Science
The Department of Political Science offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees in a variety of areas in the political science field, as well as a joint J.D./M.A. degree with Drake University, an interdisciplinary degree in information assurance (MSIA) and a graduate Certificate of Public Management (CPM).

This commitee reviews Facutly Senate initiatives to assess their probable impact upon equity, diversity, and inclusion; plays an advocacy role for its constituencies; and initiates proposals.

The University Committee for the Advancement of Women and Gender Equity works to promote a university climate that fosters the full participation of women faculty, staff and students. The committee concerns itself with policies and practices that may cause particular difficulties for women as employees and students.
Women’s and Gender Studies Program
The Women’s and Gender Studies program focuses on the study of issues and scholarship relevant to women and gender, challenges existing systems of knowledge, and forges new scholarship based on the centrality of gender as a category of analysis.
Womxn of Colour Network
The Womxn of Colour Network student organization was established in 2011 to support womxn students of colour at Iowa State. The Womxn of Colour Network Retreat is a signature program presented by the Margaret Sloss Center for Women and Gender Equity and The Womxn of Colour Network.
The YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, standing up for social justice, helping families and strengthening communities.
