The Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics held its annual year-end celebration event on April 10 to honor the affiliated students who will earn their degrees this spring or summer, as well as the students who graduated in December 2024.
This year’s event was held at Iowa State University’s Reiman Gardens. As part of the event, attendees watched a video created by Catt Center intern Delaney Graef, who interviewed several of the graduating seniors about their experiences as interns at the Catt Center and the people and things that inspire them.
Students sharing their future plans include:
“I have loved being involved in my sorority, Gamma Phi Beta, acting as social chair and Homecoming General co-chair,” Anderson said. “It has been a great way to get experiences for my future career and create lasting friendships and memories I will remember forever.”
Anderson, who is from Eden Prairie, Minnesota, is looking for an event coordinator position in Minneapolis.
Carr said, “My favorite memory at ISU was presenting my senior capstone research project on microplastics impact on zooplankton health, where I was able to talk about environmental issues I deeply care about.”
This summer, Carr will be interning in Rome, Italy with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization as a part of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Dean’s Global Food and Agriculture Program. In the fall, she will be attending Iowa State University’s master’s degree program in political science with a concentration in public policy. Carr is from Ames, Iowa.
Drey said her favorite memories at Iowa State were football Saturdays and spending time with friends and family in the beautiful fall weather at Jack Trice.
After graduation, she will be attending law school at the University of Iowa. Drey is from Marion, Iowa.
“My favorite memory at Iowa State was making new friends and finding a passion for my major, which made the entire experience more rewarding and exciting,” Molayal said.
Molayal, who is from Waukee, Iowa, is an account executive at Cumulus Media Des Moines.
When asked about her favorite memory of Iowa State, Wyatt said, “Meeting new people and making friends within class and at the Catt Center!”
After graduation, Wyatt will be joining Casey’s Data and Analytics Development Program on the Analytics track as an associate insights analyst. She is from West Des Moines, Iowa.
Other graduates include Madeline Becker, a December 2024 graduate with a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science and a master’s degree in economics; Emily Lanza, who is graduating with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a minor in psychology; and Paola Martinez, who is graduating with a bachelor’s degree in political science.
