Catt Center celebrates its newest alumni

The Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics held its annual year-end celebration event on April 10 to honor the affiliated students who will earn their degrees this spring or summer, as well as the students who graduated in December 2024.

This year’s event was held at Iowa State University’s Reiman Gardens. As part of the event, attendees watched a video created by Catt Center intern Delaney Graef, who interviewed several of the graduating seniors about their experiences as interns at the Catt Center and the people and things that inspire them.

Students sharing their future plans include:

Hope Anderson
Hope Anderson
Hope Anderson is graduating with a bachelor’s degree in event management and a minor in music. Anderson was center’s public relations/event planning intern for the 2024-2025 academic year.

“I have loved being involved in my sorority, Gamma Phi Beta, acting as social chair and Homecoming General co-chair,” Anderson said. “It has been a great way to get experiences for my future career and create lasting friendships and memories I will remember forever.”

Anderson, who is from Eden Prairie, Minnesota, is looking for an event coordinator position in Minneapolis.

Shane Burton
Shane Burton
Shane Burton is graduating with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and political science. Burton, who was a 2025 spring research intern examining what influences have helped shape the political beliefs of Iowa State students, said that his favorite memory was attending his first Iowa State football game. After graduation, he will be attending law school. Burton is from Barrington, Illinois.

Katlyn Carr
Katlyn Carr
Katlyn Carr, a 2024-2025 Helen Jensen Howe Legacy of Heroines scholar, is graduating with a bachelor’s degree in global resource systems and environmental studies and a minor in political science.

Carr said, “My favorite memory at ISU was presenting my senior capstone research project on microplastics impact on zooplankton health, where I was able to talk about environmental issues I deeply care about.”

This summer, Carr will be interning in Rome, Italy with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization as a part of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Dean’s Global Food and Agriculture Program. In the fall, she will be attending Iowa State University’s master’s degree program in political science with a concentration in public policy. Carr is from Ames, Iowa.

Stacia Drey
Stacia Drey
Stacia Drey, a 2023-2025 Political Science Alumni Legacy of Heroines scholar, is graduating with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication and political science and a minor in ethics.

Drey said her favorite memories at Iowa State were football Saturdays and spending time with friends and family in the beautiful fall weather at Jack Trice.

After graduation, she will be attending law school at the University of Iowa. Drey is from Marion, Iowa.

Erica Levi
Erica Levi
Erica Levi is graduating with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a minor in psychology. Levi, who was a CyclonesVote intern in the Fall 2024 semester, said that her favorite Iowa State memory was attending her first Iowa State football game. After graduation, she will be attending law school. Levi is from Sterling, Virginia.

Hannah Moloyal
Hannah Molayal graduated in December 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication and a minor in political science. Molayal was an intern on the Women in Iowa Politics Database and Gender Balance Project in 2024-2025 and a CyclonesVote intern in 2024-2025.

“My favorite memory at Iowa State was making new friends and finding a passion for my major, which made the entire experience more rewarding and exciting,” Molayal said.

Molayal, who is from Waukee, Iowa, is an account executive at Cumulus Media Des Moines.

Alison Wyatt
Alison Wyatt
Alison Wyatt is graduating with a bachelor’s degree in data science and statistics and a minor in leadership studies. Wyatt was an intern on the Women in Iowa Politics Database and Gender Balance Project for the 2024-2025 academic year.

When asked about her favorite memory of Iowa State, Wyatt said, “Meeting new people and making friends within class and at the Catt Center!”

After graduation, Wyatt will be joining Casey’s Data and Analytics Development Program on the Analytics track as an associate insights analyst. She is from West Des Moines, Iowa.

Other graduates include Madeline Becker, a December 2024 graduate with a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science and a master’s degree in economics; Emily Lanza, who is graduating with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a minor in psychology; and Paola Martinez, who is graduating with a bachelor’s degree in political science.
