How are the nominations judged?
Nominations are judged by a committee compromised of representatives from the Catt Center and its student programs, previous calendar honorees and additional members of the ISU community (a mix of faculty, staff, merit). They review the applicants and select the honorees. A different selection committee is formed each year.

Who is eligible to be nominated?
Any woman who is currently employed by Iowa State University (must still be employed for the 2015 calendar year) or any woman who is a current student at Iowa State University is eligible to be nominated. Seniors graduating in May 2015 may still be nominated. We are looking for women who have impacted Iowa State through campus involvement, in the classroom or community relationships; and inspires women of all generations.

I don’t work at Iowa State. Can I still nominate someone?
Yes! One does not have to work or be associated with Iowa State University to nominate a woman currently employed or attending Iowa State.

How do I increase my nominee’s chances of being selected?
Keep in mind this is a very competitive process. Emphasize their contributions to campus life and their impact on others, follow directions on the nomination form, take time to write a compelling letter of recommendation, and keep in mind the selection committee will be a mix of people from different disciplines across campus — not everyone will be familiar with abbreviations, etc.

When will finalists be notified?
Honorees will be notified in November 2014.

Where and when is the reception?
An unveiling celebration is held each January to publicly honor the women selected to appear on the calendar. This is free and open to the public.
